This Privacy Policy explains how SubVu handles personal data when you use the app and related pages.

1. What we collect
We collect only the data needed to run the service.
- Account and authentication data, including email address (including private relay email where used) and authentication identifiers from sign-in providers.
- Device push token (APNs), when you allow notifications, used only to deliver renewal reminders you configure.
- App data you provide, including subscriptions, recurring cost entries, and preferences such as country, language, and base currency.
- Technical and security data, including basic service logs for reliability and abuse prevention, and error details needed to diagnose issues.
We do not use third-party analytics trackers in the app.
2. How we use your data
- Provide and operate SubVu.
- Authenticate you and secure your account.
- Sync and store your data across sessions/devices.
- Send account-related emails, including confirmation emails.
- Send optional engagement emails (for example reminders to add your first subscription), with unsubscribe links.
- Handle support and legal requests.
- Send renewal reminder push notifications when you enable them.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse or misuse.
3. Legal basis
Where applicable, we process personal data on these bases:
- Contract, to provide the service you request.
- Legitimate interests, to secure and improve service reliability.
- Legal obligation, where required by law.
- Consent, where consent is required (for example, notification permission on device).
4. Sharing and subprocessors
We do not sell your personal data.
We share data with service providers only as needed to run SubVu, including:
- Supabase (authentication, database, backend infrastructure)
- Apple (app distribution, payments, sign-in services where used)
- Email delivery provider(s) used for account and optional engagement emails
- Exchange Rate API (public exchange rate data). When you use multi-currency features while online, the app requests rate data directly from your device to their service. That request may involve standard technical information (such as IP address) processed under their policies. Your subscription amounts and item details are not sent to them.
These providers process data under their own contractual and security obligations.
5. Data retention
We keep data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize account data unless retention is required by law, fraud prevention, or security needs.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion
- Request export/portability of your data
- Object to certain processing where applicable
- Opt out of optional engagement emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages

7. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for cross-border transfers.
8. Children
SubVu is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is posted at https://subvu.co/privacy. If changes are material, we will provide appropriate notice in the app or by other reasonable means.
